Yesterday i happened across one of my best clients facebook page and her self proclaimed "best attempts at a Christmas card photos". She was unhappy with all of them do to the dog or her daughter not looking at the camera etc. So i offered to lend a hand.
We met up today for 10mins to just snap a few photos- They got half way to town and realized they had left the dog at home... which probobly made my job 10x easier! We had a hard time getting Cam to look at the camera and smile but we did get a few good ones where at least there is eye contact!

Vanessa | Marty
A few weeks ago I had the best excuse in the world to visit my favorite city of Beantown. Vanessa and Marty are getting married in Aug on the coast of Maine. Vanessa & Marty live in Boston and jumped my suggestion to do their engagement shoot there (like I said any excuse to spend a weekend in the city). So I traveled down to Boston and met up with Debbie (Deborah Zoe Photo) on a perfect afternoon. Debbie is 2nd shooting the wedding with me and I figured it would be a great chance to have her meet the couple and have them get to know her.
Well, we had a blast! We started in the public gardens and worked our way into beacon hill- finishing in front of the state house. I'm so lucky to have such good looking and fun clients! Marty even admitted he was excited for the shoot. Are these guys models or what? For this first photo I told Vanessa to "drape herself on Marty". She gave me a slightly confused look but went for it anyway.... I knew she'd a natural.

.my pets.
Over the past year and a half my puppy Jacoby has been a loyal model for me. I have a whole folder dedicated to photos of him. The other day realized I had no decent photos of my family cats. This is Sam- He was a stray we adopted at 5 months old about 15 years ago. We are pretty sure he is Maine Coon. He has a purr that you can hear all the way across the house.

Here are my favorites of Cooke and Coby- Cookie is 16 years old and diabetic but still is king of the castle. These two don't exactly get along but they tolerate each other. Cookie was in the middle of an afternoon nap and Coby just had to be a part of the shoot. But I love the way these came out with the two of them.

working a double.
As amazing as I am as a photographer I have yet to be able to survive solely on my photography income- so I moonlight as a waitress. Working at Wine Thyme is great don't get me wrong... wine, good friends and most of the time i'm making money. Today however i'm not quite as excited as I uasually am.... doubles are not my best friend. Speaking of best friends- mine: KC was not included in my first post and really should have been. Of course she pointed it out totally kidding but she was right.
We laugh so hard we cry, she makes me smile when I would rather be screaming and for some reason we just click. We met in 8th grade and were fast friends. We stayed good friends through high school and into college but for some reason it was late into college when we realized that we were more sisters then just friends. Of course our timing couldn't have been worse she was off to Africa and I was moving to GA to be with my boyfriend. But no matter the miles between us we stayed very close. This past summer was one of the best of my life- and I owe most of that to her. It was a hard time in my life, i'd moved back to my home town, I'd broken up with and gotten back together with my boyfriend and yet it was great! This past summer was the first summer KC and I had been in the same time zone in years!!!! We would stay up all night, watch One Tree Hill, go see the local softball team play, eat take out, scour the racks at TJ Maxx and of course hanging out with her little sister, who I claim as my own little sister, nothing incredibly special but it was fun.
So I leave you today- with two of my favorite photos of KC that I took YEARS ago. The first one I actually won a nation wide online photo contest with my sophomore year of high school. :)
P.S. These are both from my 35mm b&w film days (taken with my Pentax K1000).
Early November
Its a beautiful day for early November... There are a million things around the house I should be doing. However I find myself here writing my first blog post for Concept Spring Studio. Since this new adventure started in April I've been so excited to get to a point where I felt established. (That point when your list of things to do is down to a somewhat manageable amount and you feel like finally things are coming together). Getting my website up and running was a huge challenge- For the first three weeks I was changing out photos constantly. I had a hard time committing to the images for my galleries and every shoot I went on I wanted to add more (my newest favorites). I was spending so much time editing my site and trying to "brand" myself that I felt like I was starting to miss out on life. I decided to bite the bullett and get a blog. That way I could update my new favorite photos for people to see without having to update my website EVERYDAY! It has been a slow process and I'm sure there are plenty more changes to come- but over all it feels good to have a blog presence. You see... i'm a bit of a blog stalker! I spend hours surfing my idols blogs. I enjoy seeing their new photos and reading the wonderful tidbits they share. Melissa Jill, Jamie Delaine, Becker, Michael Norwood, Jessica Claire and the not quite so famous but totally fabulous Debbie Parker are a part of my daily routine. I hope that sharing my photos and thoughts will be entertaining for a few people out there. For today I'm going to start with just a few photos of some of my favorite things in my life.
