The Marshall Family {lifestyle portraits}

The Marshall's are new to Maine.  They bought a beautiful, old, farmhouse in Denmark and have decided to make western Maine home.  This family is so warm and so welcoming.  We battled some late season bugs and managed to survive long enough to grab a few photos of their awesome boys and some of the whole family - poodles included. Thank you all so much for welcoming me into your home- I'm so glad to have some new friends :)

Leeanne & Christopher | Cambridge MA {wedding}

Leeanne and Christopher are artists and wanted to have a unique wedding.  They choose to have their ceremony at the YMCA theater in Cambridge MA.  They were married in a greek play inspired ceremony and followed that with a fantastic reception at The Elephant Walk restaurant in Porter Square.  Let me just say- best wedding food ever!!! These two had every detailed customized, tickets to The Alignment (their ceremony), and sashes that made everyone look like royalty!  Every detail was carefully thought out and totally unique to their wedding.

Thank you Leeanne & Christopher for having me as a part of your amaizingly unique and special day!!!

Bethany & Corey | Jackson, NH {wedding}

Bethany smiles.  No, like really smiles!  You could tell that her wedding day was the best day of her life.  Cory and Bethany are so in love that you can't help but get that gooey, sweet, romantic feeling just by being in their presence.   These two love birds tied the knot in Jackson, NH at Whitney's Inn last month and their stunning flowers at courtesy of Carrie over at Dutch Bloemen Winkel. Bethany is taller then her groom (a plight that I share) so she wore the cutest flats for her wedding shoes.

Thank you Bethany & Corey- I was so glad to be a part of your day.

Making A Difference, Giving Back {news & weddings}

A few months ago I was inspired by another photographer to do more, push harder and give back.  To go beyond just doing the best I could possibly do for my clients and to do the best I could for my community as well.  Now for every wedding my couples are going to help me help others: Being able to do what I love for a living makes me one of the lucky ones.  I’ve chosen to celebrate being lucky by giving back.  I am going to donate a portion of every wedding to a non-profit in need.  This is where my clients come in...  You get to decide which charity gets a portion from your wedding purchase.  It’s one of my ways of saying thank you for choosing Spring Smith Studios.

Rusty Rocket-  a charity near and dear to my own heart.  This non profit is all about kids and music.  www.rustyrocket.com Animal Rescue League of NH-  helping homeless animals find loving, forever homes. Jen’s Friends-  providing supplemental financial assistance and other resources to cancer patients and their families in the Mount Washington Valley. Thirst Relief International-  Whose mission is to overcome death and disease resulting from the consumption of contaminated water by providing safe, clean drinking water to those in need around the world.

My hope is that my business can make a difference in more then just my clients lives, but in the lives of kids whose school's budget cuts have taken away their music programs, a stray kitten in need of a loving home, a family who's loved one is battling cancer and a community who are desperately trying to find a way to have clean water to drink.  I know that I'm just one person but with the help of my awesome clients I'm hoping this small business can make at least a small difference.

Ally & Adam | Jackson, NH {wedding}

Ally and Adam are ideal clients.  They are the kind of clients that every photographer wants to find.  They are funny, sweet, totally head over heals in love and when we first met we just clicked.  The first thing they told me was they were getting married at Whitney's Inn.... yes please!!! Whitney's is one of my all time favorite places to shoot.  The warm, rustic, chic feel and the amaizing staff make this place a magnet for great couples.  When I met with Ally & Adam over breakfast I think it was pretty clear we were both excited.  They booked me on the spot and when saying good bye Adam said to me "we know we made the right choice becuase you are the kind of person that if we were not hiring you to shoot our wedding we'd want to invite you"  WOW!!!!  Can you ask for a more ideal client?  I think not. Ally & Adam just missed hurricane Irene and thankfully we had a beautiful day before the storm hit.  We even made it to Jackson Falls for some great portraits the day before the river went up 15+ feet and flooded half the town.

Without further ado- enjoy Ally & Adam's picture perfect wedding day.

Thank you Ally & Adam for being such great friends!!!
