Rebecca & Owen's Wedding Album

I know its Fine Art Friday- But I couldn't help it.... I think this book is fine art :) The files are uploading to the printer and I just can't stop looking at this album!!!!   I am so excited to see this one in person, it's going to be stunning!  I love that Rebecca wanted to include a reading from their wedding on the inside cover of the dust jacket.

Sorry Rebecca and Owen if your album arrives with a little drool :)

Spring

Chelsea & Tyler | Feb 5, 2011 | Jackson, NH

The forecast was for snow.  The day started with sun in the morning, the clouds rolled in around 3pm and the snow started to fall just before sunset.  It was the perfect day for a New England winter wedding.  Addie (my second shooter for the day) and I met up with Chelsea & Tyler at Whitney's Inn in Jackson NH.

I love that the boys were in matching argil sweaters... and with purple no less.  I have no idea why but purple is a fantastic winter wedding color.

Tyler's sister was his "best girl".  I love it when couples break with tradition a little to include the people that are most important to them.

Chelsea wore a Maggie Sottero gown that looked stunning with her Aldo boots.

Chelsea, you are one of the most photogenic people I've ever know.

There are so many beautiful spots at Whitney's Inn, this window light was perfect!!!!  You can see why it is one of my favorite places to shoot a wedding.

The Ceremony was held at the Jackson Community Church.  Terry at Gorham House Florist did a fantastic job with Chelsea's flowers.

Husband and wife.

This might be my favorite image of the day.

As we headed back to the Shovel Handle Pub for the reception the snow began to fall.  Lightly at first but within an hour there were 2+ inches on the ground and we were in the middle of a full blown nor'easter.

Years ago Chelsea decided to run away from home and hung a small sign on the mail box.  Her parents kept this sign for years and decided to blow it up and add a "SOLD" to it for everyone to see.

The White Mountain Cupcakery did a fantastic job with the desserts!  For those of you who have no idea what the little chocolate balls on sticks are... well let me tell you they are heaven on a stick!  They take cupcakes and frosting and mix it all in a blender then dip balls of it into chocolate.... told ya- H-E-A-V-E-N!

I love the warm, cozy feel of the pub- you'd never know it was a crazy blizzard outside.

That is until you walk outside to take some photos.  These guys were total troopers and stood out in the cold with falling snow allowing us to grab some great shots.

Back inside the party began.

A few small tears during the toast.

I think this last photo is the perfect close to a fabulous wedding.  While Addie was digging out the car I grabbed one last shot of the Pub, all lit up in the snow.  Thank you Chelsea & Tyler for allowing Addie and I to capture your beautiful winter wedding!!!!

Fine Art Friday

For years I've driven by this old building in Conway Village.  The sign says 'D Baker Upholstering' but for as long as I can remember it's just been a crooked building full of random junk that leans another degrees every year.  I've always loved the spot, just across the street is a park and next to that park is the public library.  It would be a great studio location.  I love the old shingles, the peeling paint sign and all the old new england character this place has.  Sadly it has never been up for sale and would be prime commercial real estate listed for a pretty penny if it ever did come on the market.  So today I settled for taking some photos of the building and dreaming of having a small studio space all my own someday.

Editing & Old Friends.

I've been fighting off a stomach bug today, so I spent much of the day curled up with my lap top.   Editing was on the agenda for most of the afternoon.  I have been wading through thousands of images from Tyler and Chelsea's wedding as well as putting some finishing touches on an album design for Rebecca & Owen (which I will be sharing with you very soon). While editing today I came across this fantastic photo of Addie, my second shooter for Tyler & Chelsea's big day. Addie is an old family friend and a FANTASTIC artist! Her dad and my dad played in a rock and roll band together and so although we lived on opposite sides of the country for most of our lives she has always been someone I've looked up to and thought of as a kindred spirit.  The best news is that she is now back in NH and I'm loving it!!!! She is a great friend and I look forward to having her tag along to a few more weddings this year.
