Movin' on up

I'm sick - yet again.  I don't really understand how I have managed to have two bad colds in the past two months... talk about bad luck!  So not only am I working on moving my office upstairs, making some updates to my website and blog and trying to finish up 2012's wedding season now I'm dealing with a cough that just won't quit. The good news is that I'm movin' on up- meaning my office is almost 100% moved to my new 2nd floor location.  Just working on hanging up the last few photos but I thought I'd give you a little sneak peak at the new space.  I had to paint the floors and even though it's pretty much all the same furniture (ok who am i kidding i didn't even get new pillows) it does seem to have a little different feel up here.  I get a killer view of the village and a little more sunlight seems to sneak in these windows up high.  Once all the pictures are on the walls I'll share more photos but for now enjoy a little peek into my new office/studio.

A New Logo and Some Blog Construction

It's been a crazy fall season and now that things are winding down on the shooting side I'm working on some new re-vamps to the business side.  As you might have noticed I have a new logo (thanks Tara!!!) and we are working on upgrading the look of this blog to work with the new logo - so I appologize for the kind of miss matched look we have going on now but it will all look super snazzy soon!

I've also worked on updating some of the galleries in my website and adding some newer testimonials!  And on top of all of this my studio is moving!!!  Not too far just up to the 2nd floor of the same building but the painting and moving takes some time.  Thanks for sticking with me while we re-vamp some things around here!

Halloween CT Style

When I got an email from Mary asking if I had plans for halloween I'm not going to lie I did a happy dance.  She was planning a halloween party, costumes required.  I was all in and as we watched Super Storm Sandy attack the east coast I worried if this might be a no power halloween party. Luckily they were spared anything crazy here in New Haven and the party was on!  I got to finally meet some facebook friends in person and make them real life friends.  We drank wine, watched scary movies, ate lots of yummy food and even though there were no trick-or-treaters (the neighborhood postponed halloween trick-or-treating until next week because of the storm) we still went all out with costumes and of course we had to do lots of photos- editorial style and all.  Justin and Mary are planning to post some of the real photos on their blog so you can check that out here, and in the mean time enjoy a few instagrams from one of the best halloweens in my book!

How did you spend your halloween? Did you dress up? Was there a party? Scary Movies?  Sound off in that comments section down there and someone is going to win a $10 itunes card!

Whitney's Inn Wedding: Heather & Phil

Heather and I sat till long after dark, sipping wine, talking about pretty much every subject under the sun.  We talked like we were old friends even though we had just met.  Over the year before their wedding Heather we stayed in touch talking about their wedding and the newest addition to the family, Baby Kennedy.  They were so excited to have her as a part of their wedding and I was so excited to meet this beautiful baby girl after hearing so much about her! On their wedding day they were surrounded by friends and family and even a little furry black bear who decided to play wedding crasher.  The sun was warm and golden the perfect complement to the crisp October afternoon.

Fryeburg, ME Family Portraits: The Hibbard Family

With this family I always know I'm going to get genuine smiles and fun.  When Stephanie and Chris asked me if I could do a mini-session for them on a different day because on each of the day we had them scheduled one or the other of them were going to be out of town.  So we found a day that worked for all of our schedules and met up at The Oxford House Inn.  They have such a great setting and we had the perfect afternoon sun!  I can't believe how much their kids have grown in the past year and it was so much fun to see these kids smile the moment I showed up, they even wanted to take a few photos themselves and you''ll see one of them below! Thanks guys for finding the time to come hang out and play in front of my camera again, it's always a pleasure!!! XOXO Spring
