Elizabeth & Eric | Groton, MA {wedding}

I first met Eric back during my Northeastern University days. Some of his friends from home (NY) were my friends in Boston and when Eric came to Boston one summer for a Dispatch concert we all spent a 99 degree day hanging out on the esplanade and even took a dip in the Charles River that afternoon thankfully none of us ended up sick.  When Elizabeth contacted me about their wedding I was really excited to get to see Eric again and to be able to document their wedding at the beautiful Barn at Gibbit Hill in Groton MA. Eric works for The Weather Channel and was called in to make a last min, weather man, decision on if  the ceremony would be outside or inside.  One big band of storms had rolled through but Eric made the call to be outside and just as Elizabeth was walking down the isle the sun burt through the clouds... Guess this weather man was right :)

There are so many great images from this wedding thanks to my assistant Lindsey and my second shooter Michelle that you'll have to come back tomorrow to see the portraits and reception.

Caroline & Kevin | Jackson, NH {engagements}

Caroline & Kevin are head over heals in love.  Just the way they look at one another is enough to double global warming.  OK maybe thats a little exaggeration but when you see their engagements I think you'll know where I'm coming from.  I think Caroline and Kevin hold the record for least amount of time between booking and an engagement session- I met with these two on a friday while they were up in Mt. Washington Valley visiting Caroline's family home in Jackson and we shot their engagements on the following Monday before they drove back down to Boston.  I was super excited when these two had lots of ideas for their session- The Jackson covered bridge, the falls, maybe up by a ski mountain?  We fought with some traffic at the covered bridge, which eventually lead to me standing in the middle of the road stopping traffic so we could get out shot and move on- glad we mostly got waves and not honks :)  My favorite location was when we wondered up to Black Mt in Jackson and found that one of the chairs on the chairlift was just low enough for them to jump up into and snuggle.  Such a fun location for two outdoor loving skiers. Thanks Caroline and Kevin- I can't wait to see you guys this winter for a beer and some skiing :)

Kate & Ben | Eagle Mountain House | Jackson, NH {wedding}

Remember that little heat wave we had in early October... the one where it reached almost 90 degrees in the mountains of NH?  Yeah that one.... well that weekend happened to be Kate and Ben's wedding weekend.  These two had the perfect, warm, fall day for a wedding in Jackson.  The Eagle Mountain House is such a fun venue and I was so happy to finally get the chance to shoot there.  These two tied the knot on the the golf course looking out across to the beautiful fall colors mountains.  I'm so glad to have been a part of their day- and I had Meg Simone as my second shooter to boot!  She's a very talented photographer as well as the best wedding videographer and friend a girl could find.   Talk about luck :) Enjoy Kate & Ben's Jackson, NH wedding:

Colton McCarthy {newborn photographer}

I knew this kid was going to be perfection in front of my camera.  After all his parents are pros.  After an engagement shoot, their wedding and then more recently Vanessa's maternity session these two might as well be the official models for Spring Smith Studios. Their little bundle, Colton, was born last month and rocked it for the camera in two cute hats and of course in his mom's Etsy purchase (you'll know it when you see it).

Ohhh and check out the super cute birth announcements I made for them- I cant wait to have one of these on my desk :)
