Caron & John . Ocean Gateway {wedding}

Caron and John had the perfect day for a wedding.  Blue skys, sunshine and a soft ocean breeze. When Caron contacted me about her wedding I was so excited.  She had picked a new venue in Portland, ME called Ocean Gateway.  This building used to be the terminal for a boat that took passengers to Nova Scotia.  Now that the boat is no longer running they have turned this large industrial building into a modern, waterfront venue.  Any brides out there looking for a modern waterfront wedding venue check this place out!  The people are great and the setting is fantastic!

Thank you Caron & John for having me with you on your wedding day.  I hope every in NJ knows how lucky they are to have you, and I'm sure Maine is already missing you!!!

Vanessa & Marty {maternity}

Vanessa & Marty are expecting the newest McCarthy next month so we battled the rain and schedules and found some time to meet up a few weeks ago in Well's (on the beach where Marty proposed) to take a few maternity photos.  Vanessa was a stunning bride but honestly- she might make an even more stunning mommy-to-be.

I'm not sure I can pick just one favorite but if you twisted my arm- this next one might be it...

Thank you Vanessa & Marty for being patient for the rain to finally go away that night- I hope you agree with me, that the wait was worth it!

Rebecca & Travis {brownfield engagements}

The weather was not on our side.  Rebecca and I tried to get her and Travis's engagements scheduled three times before the weather finally cooperated.  We had rain, we had a heat wave and then finally we had the perfect summer evening.  When I was chatting with Rebecca about what she wanted as a "feel/vibe" for her engagements we both agreed that a field, maybe one with a stone wall would be perfect.  After some brainstorming and a little help from my mother- we came up with the perfect spot:  Chamberlain Farm, a family friend's stunning home up in the hills of Brownfield.  Once we found a day that the weather wanted to play nice, we met up in Brownfield to shoot some spectacular pre-sunset images. Rebecca was a little worried at first that being significantly shorter then her hubby-to-be was going to make it hard to not look awkward in photos- I don't know about you guys but awkward is not a word I'd use to describe these....

J.Crew magazine anyone?

I know these little yellow flowers are painful for those of us with allergies, but man they make for pretty pictures.

This next one is screaming to be a huge canvas on my wall.

Incase you were wondering they do know how to smile.

That light is so yummy.

Travis seemed to be the one giving kisses so we decided to switch things up- which produced a few laughs.

We ended with a shot that let Rebecca be the tall one for once.  Thank you guys for a wonderful evening.  I had so much fun with you guys and can not wait for your October wedding!!

Lindsey {assistant extraordinaire}

Through most of my wedding season last year and for most of my wedding season this year I have one girl at my side.  Meet Lindsey!

At the beginning of the year last year I knew I was going to need some help to get through my busiest season yet.  I sent out a mass email and facebook post searching for someone who wanted to second shoot weddings with me.  I was in need of someone to carry my bags around and help me track down aunt susan who ran off to the reception before family photos were finished, but also someone who would carry a camera all day and be a second perspective on the wedding day.  Lindsey's father and step mom are also wedding photographers (Birch Blaze Photography) and because they work as a team they really didn't need a third set of hands so they offered that extra set to me!  And man am I grateful!!!!

Lindsey has been amazing to work with and I'm so lucky to have her helping me out.  She has taken some great photographs over the past year and I can't wait to see all that she will do this year.  As a recent bride herself this girl knows the inside scoop and I'm sure that will only make her a stronger photographer.

I'm so honored to have her shoot with me and even more so to call her my friend.
