Ryan & Chelsey's Snowy Engagements

April 23 is not typically a date that makes you think snow storm.  Poor Ryan and Chelsey had just flown back to Maine from North Carolina for their wedding and were greeted with snow.  And not just a flurry- but a storm full of heavy wet snow.  Enough that it covered the ground in front of my house and took more then 24 hours for it to disappear again.  Don't get me wrong I love snow and I'm a fan of winter just not when it decides to come back at the end of April. Good thing both Chelsey and Ryan are originally from Maine and were not deterred by the snow.  We met up Saturday afternoon in Bridgton, ME for a cold and wet engagement session.  We did our best to find some places outside with beautiful light that would keep them out of the elements as much as possible.  First stop: this beautiful wooden covered bridge.

undefinedAt least it was big flakes so they showed up in the photos.

When I was scoping out some spots to shoot before the session I drove by this beautiful old building with a barn/garage with green doors- perfect!  Trouble was no overhang to keep the two love birds dry.  Thank goodness they were good sports and didn't mind a little snow.

I love Ryan's smile- so genuine.

It didn't hurt that the house attached to the old barn/garage was pretty cool and had a fun porch to play on.  Don't worry the house isn't actually a house anymore its a midwife birth house so it wasn't like we were hanging out on someones front porch.

One of my favorites of the day.

Another favorite- Chelsey has the model look down pat.

undefinedundefined

OK who doesn't love a blue ceiling?  I wish I had a covered porch on my house just so I could paint it blue!

Our last stop was Ryan's mother's house just outside of town.  Chelsey wanted some rustic barn photos and his mom had the perfect barn for her vision.

One of my favorite photos ever- I told Ryan to give her a kiss and then I said "no give her a REAL kiss" and he put his hand on her neck and pulled her close- SO ROMANTIC!!! Just looking at this photo I get butterflies in my tummy.

undefinedundefinedundefined I had a wonderful with with Ryan and Chelsey.  I'm glad they were good sports about the weather because I love their images and am so happy to have spent the afternoon with them.

Classic Musicals

I have a thing for musicals.  What can I say I love dancing, singing and a love story.  Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady have been two of my favorites for years.  When I was a little girl I had both of these fantastic musicals on VHS and watched them over and over again.  I don't have a VCR anymore so last week I decided it was time to invest in a few new DVD's. So today I'm going to drool over a young Marlon Brando and sing along "I've got a horse right hear his name is Paul Revere".

My Fair Lady is next- who wants to come over and join me?
